Community Empowerment

Famers Need iuchr intervention

Helping rural communities play an active role in shaping a new way to a sustainable economy.

Enable Rural Community to fight hunger and shape new ways, new economic aspects, it’s what we do.

Famers and climate change

Farmers and fishers rely heavily on the weather and natural resources for consistent growth. However, the shift to a climate crisis is disrupting this, leading to increased hunger, food insecurity, and poverty. Our actions towards addressing climate change have the potential to transform the lives of millions of families and communities. By taking action to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change, we can help to protect the livelihoods and well-being of these communities and ensure a more sustainable and equitable future for all.

IUCHR commitment in helping famers thrives

Provide access to resources: Farmers in developing countries often lack access to important resources such as land, water, seed, and financing. We are helping by providing resources and by helping farmers access these resources through partnerships or advocacy efforts.

Promote sustainable agriculture: Sustainable agriculture practices can help farmers to improve their yields and protect the environment. IUCHR is committed to providing training and resources related to sustainable agriculture practices.

Support value-added processing: Many farmers in developing countries rely on a single crop for their livelihoods, which can be vulnerable to market fluctuations. An organization we help famers by supporting value-added processing, such as the production of processed foods or crafts, which can help farmers to diversify their income streams and become more resilient.

Promote market access: Many farmers in developing countries face barriers to accessing markets, which can limit their ability to sell their products. IUCHR is promoting market access, such as by connecting farmers with buyers or helping to establish fair trade networks.

Address gender inequality: In many developing countries, women farmers face significant barriers to success, including lack of access to resources and discrimination. IUCHR is addressing gender inequality, such as by promoting equal access to resources and training for women farmers.

Provide access to resources and education: Farmers in developing countries often face challenges such as limited access to resources, such as financing, land, and knowledge. We aim to providing continuous access to resources and education that can help farmers improve their practices and increase their yields. This include providing loans, training on sustainable farming techniques, or access to markets.

Support value chain development: Helping farmers in developing countries access markets and increase their incomes can be critical to their success. We support value chain development by connecting farmers with buyers, providing training on how to add value to their products, and helping to build infrastructure that enables farmers to get their products to market.

“I work more than 13 hours a day in order to gain 1000FC “equivalent to 0.70 cent. All my life I have known nothing else but farming, but since I left my home it has been a challenging situation for me and my family since we own no land here. War took everything from us”

Jaqueline Mulume

Our approach to creating a lasting and sustainable system involves two main functions: community responsibilities and IUCHR responsibilities. By focusing on these two areas, we aim to strengthen our relationship with the communities we serve, and to better understand their culture, values, priorities, and challenges. This helps us to develop effective program strategies and training initiatives that can increase productivity and community involvement.

By involving the community in our efforts, we aim to create a system that is truly sustainable and that benefits all

“I don’t study anymore, my dream was to graduate from a nursing school, I still hope one day I will go back to school.” Says Ester

Ester spends most of her time helping her pregnant mother on the field. Her Mother Nyarukemba wanted her daughter to study and not staying home, or in the field farming, but their financial limitation forces Ester to stay at home and in the field farming.
